I’m very good at two important things. Knowing what needs to be done, and making things happen. And for me, I think that this is the essence of a really good financial advisor; working with people to create positive change.
I've worked for almost two decades in financial services, working initially as an accountant and auditor, before moving into investment sales, where I had to understand the different types of investments and how these played out in difference scenarios. I’ve used these skills and experiences and constantly look to upskill and improve to become the best financial advisor I can possibly be.
I understand things quickly and overcome challenges when they arise. It has helped me in other areas. As well as achieving my Financial Advice Qualification I also qualified and continue to be a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants. I’ve also built a personal property portfolio; represented Great Britain at athletics and duathlon and became the Chair of the Scottish Athletics Audit Committee. I’m also on my local Community Trust and help at our junior youth club.
I’m particularly strong at taking complex issues; often found in the financial world where I operate, recognising the key points and helping others to understand them too.
And that’s why I’m here; to help you understand your finances and to guide you through whatever situation you find yourself in. I really, genuinely want to add value to your life and if I can; I’d love to help you.
I live in Fife, with my wife, Laura, two young kids and Rocky the Dog. When I’m not working, I like to spend most of my time with them or exercising. That’s who I am – the less exciting stuff is below!
